Staying safe as sweltering summer heat takes aim at Northeast Ohio
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - With the heat and humidity heading our way soon, now is the time to prepare for how to handle it.
It's not just about keeping our bodies cool. It's also about what we put into our bodies.
Nutritionists tell us to stay away from sugars, but eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, and drink lots of water.
Experts also recommend that we eat light meals and when it comes to protein, fish is our best option.
Be sure to check on the elderly, young children and pets on a regular basis.
If your pet cannot be brought indoors to a cool place, make sure they have a shady area and plenty of fresh water.
