Taste Buds: Fourth of July party dishes and community supported agriculture boxes

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - It's time for an Independence Day edition of Taste Buds, Cleveland 19's weekly video podcast on all things food.

Each Tuesday morning, the trio of Taste Bud hosts talk about timely food and dining topics, events, and recipes.

This week, WOIO's Jen Picciano, and chefs David Kocab and Matt Mytro will discuss two of the most popular Fourth of July party sides, potato salad and pasta salad, and what will make your dish the most popular dish at the cookout this holiday. Viewers and listeners are invited to weigh in on what makes theirs the best.

The Taste Buds will also discuss community supported agriculture, or CSAs. There are several local businesses which provide subscribers with weekly boxes of fresh, locally grown and in-season produce. Companies like Fresh Fork Market and Perfectly Imperfect Produce gather produce from farmers within a certain radius and distribute the freshest and the best of what they're growing. Customers pick up the boxes, without knowing what they're getting. Some love the idea of experimenting with new or unusual produce, and others say it's hard to use it all up because there is so much.

Catch Taste Buds live on Roku and Amazon Fire TV at 10 a.m., on Cleveland 19 News Facebook Live broadcast, or our app or website.
