CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Police officers all over the country are paying their respects to Cleveland Police officer Vu Nguyen.

Nguyen died last night after collapsing on Monday during outdoor training in 90 degree heat and being placed on life support.

His fellow officers are raising money for Nguyen's family by holding a garage sale.

The garage sale began at 7 a.m. and dozens of people stopped by to purchase items or make donations.

All of the proceeds from the garage sale will go to the Nguyen family.

A Cleveland Police Officer said that the sale has made around $500-$600 today and that he's humbled to give the money to the Nguyen family.

The money raised from the garage sale is part of a larger fund that the Cleveland Police Patrol Association has started for Ngyuen.
