Police search for gunman who fatally shot man, injured another on Cleveland's east side

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Cleveland police officers are searching for a man who shot two people, killing one of them, after demanding money from them on the east side Thursday night.

The suspect is an African-American male, approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall, and thin according to the Cleveland Police Department.

He was last seen wearing a red hooded-sweatshirt and has gold teeth.

Police say the shooting happened near a home on Way Avenue around 6 p.m. Thursday. The suspect demanded money from the two suspects, then shot both victims and fled on foot.

A 67-year-old man was shot in the back and died from his injuries at the hospital.

The second victim, an unidentified man in his 50s, was shot in the hip and taken to MetroHealth Hospital for surgery. He is in critical condition, according to police.
