Tri-C Cleveland Eats reeling in all-star restaurant lineup, menus: Taste Buds

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - It's time for Taste Buds, Cleveland 19 News' weekly video podcast discussing all things food!

Each week, Cleveland 19's Jen Picciano, host of Cleveland Cooks, is joined by Chef Matt Mytro of Flour in Moreland Hills and Chef David Kocab of The Black Pig in Cleveland's Ohio City neighborhood.

Today, the trio of food experts is talking about old school cafeteria favorites; ones we tried to avoid as kids, the best brown bag lunch elements, and modern takes of school nutrition.

Several local school districts are working with a Cleveland start-up, Farm Fare, to make an effort for bring more locally-sourced produce into school lunch rooms.

Thanks to a bid awarded to Farm Fare by the Ohio School Council, more than 200 Ohio school districts are eligible to purchase produce from local farms at a reduced rate.

The Taste Buds will also welcome special guest, Tricia Chaves, a freelance food writer, to talk about her recent experience with the group of Cleveland-area chefs who traveled to New York City to cook at the James Beard House.

Watch Taste Buds live at 10 a.m. each Tuesday on Cleveland 19 News' Facebook page, our mobile app or website. You can also see it live on Roku or Amazon Fire TV.
