CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Several volunteers and local donors are helping to make a difference in the lives of local teachers.

Those volunteers are helping to clean up and donate school supplies to classrooms across the greater Cleveland area. on Thursday.

Every year, elementary school teachers spend, on average, more than $500 of their own money preparing classrooms and that's why sponsors are on a mission to help some of our newest local teachers in the area.

In partnership with Teach For America and Discount Drug Mart, more than $10,000 in organizational products and school supplies will be donated and more than 60 volunteers will clean, organize and stock 20 high-need classrooms in the local community.
