CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - 12-year-old Evelyn Rombke got the experience of a lifetime when she flew with renowned air show pilot Sean D. Tucker.
The Dayton native made the trip with her mother and father; driving four hours up the road to Burke Lake Front Airport for the opportunity to meet her idol.
"It's amazing," Rombke said with a smile on her face, "I never thought I would be here."
Evelyn has been a fan of flight since the age of three, when her father Mike took her to her first air show.
Mike couldn't help but to smile looking back on the pictures of his little girl in awe of the planes.
The family has traveled to Indiana and Pennsylvania to watch air shows but on Thursday Evelyn got her wings in Ohio.
The educational initiative gives children an opportunity to learn from experienced pilots and experience their first flight.
As a chairman for the 'Young Eagles Flight' program, flies all across the country.
The legend will showcase his skills for the last time as a solo act on Saturday and Sunday at the airshow.
His personal plane, "The Oracle Challenger III" will go into the Smithsonian in 2019.
Evelyn says she plans on bragging to her classmates throughout the school year and after hitting a few tricks she thinks she's found her calling.
