Akron first responders rescue vehicle from Summit Lake
Akron police say robbery suspect pistol-whipped employee.

AKRON, OH (WOIO) - The Akron Fire Department confirms a water rescue was conducted for a vehicle on Leslie Avenue and Summit Lake Boulevard at 9:10 a.m. on Sunday.

According to the Fire Department, the car drove off the road and went into Summit Lake with a driver and passenger inside.

One of the passengers was reportedly already out of the car when first responders arrived. The other was rescued from the car.

Akron Fire says multiple fire and medical units responded to the scene along with the Akron Fire Department Dive Team.

Authorities have yet to confirm what injuries may have been sustained.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

Akron Fire says the incident does not appear to be weather related.
