Taste Buds: Chef's Garden and Farmer Lee Jones
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - It's time for another episode of Taste Buds, Cleveland 19 News' weekly video podcast about all things food!
This week the Taste Buds welcome special guest Farmer Lee Jones, of the Culinary Vegetable Institute and Chef's Garden in Milan, Ohio. The farm has been around for nearly 30 years, selling specialty products direct from the farm to the world's most discriminating chefs. The Chef's Garden uses traditional farming methods combined with innovative technology and is an established leader on the cutting edge of the produce industry.
The trio will talk to Farmer Lee about two upcoming events at C.V.I.. The Roots Cultivate 2018 brings together culinary leaders from around the world, to gather and discuss food, trends, growing and preparation methods, plus the direction and impact of the industry. That will take place on September 24th and 25th.
Then on October 6, the Culinary Vegetable Institute will host Fete Des Bouchers. Legendary Louisiana Chef John Folse will head up the event which will recreate the age-old Southern social tradition. Translated from the French, the “party of butchers” began as a practical social event in Cajun communities. It was a day for neighbors, families and friends to gather together and butcher and prepare hogs to fill their larders for the winter.
