Eight land preservation groups merging

ELYRIA, Ohio - Eight northeast Ohio groups involved in land preservation efforts plan to merge.

The Western Reserve Land Conservancy hopes to use a $100,000 grant from the Ohio Lake Erie Commission to identify top land conservation needs in a 14-county region. The region includes parts of 16 watersheds.

The merging groups are the Chagrin River, Bratenahl, Firelands, Headwaters, Hudson, Medina-Summit, Portage and Tinkers Creek land conservancies and trusts.
