Tressel: Schembechler Made Football Better

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio State coach Jim Tressel calls today's death of Michigan coaching great Bo Schembechler an extraordinary loss for college football.

In a statement, Tressel says Schembechler touched the lives of many people and made the game of football better in every way. The Ohio State coach says the Michigan legend will always be both a Buckeye and a Wolverine.

The 77-year-old Schembechler had been an assistant coach at Ohio State under Woody Hayes in the early 1950s and then again a few years later. He led Michigan from 1969 to 1989.

The Number Two Wolverines take on Tressel's top-ranked Buckeyes tomorrow at Ohio Stadium.
