GPS Tracker Shoes

Miami, FL - Just when you thought you've heard it all....

A Miami company is preparing to launch gym shoes with a built-in locator chip.

The chip will work like a GPS tracking device - so others will be able to locate the person wearing the shoes.

There is a button the wearer can hit to send the location of the shoes to the company's monitoring center, or authorized users can contact the monitoring center to have the shoes located, virtually anywhere in the world.

The inventor of the cutting edge kicks says his shoes can help the wearer get help in an emergency situation - through the use of satellite-based electronics.

But these safety shoes don't come cheap.

The going rate starts at about $350 bucks a pair - and will be on the market in limited quantities beginning next month.
