Irish Folk Singer Sentenced for Drunk Driving

Cleveland, OH - A popular Irish folk singer sentenced Thursday for drunk driving.

Thomas "Mossy" Moran will spend three months behind bars.

This, after he slammed into a semi-truck while driving on 90 Eastbound near W. 98th Street last May.

19 Action News has learned Moran had a blood alcohol level four-times the legal limit.

Luckily, the driver of the truck wasn't injured.

Despite the 90-day sentence, Moran will serve only 10-days now because the judge has agreed to let him out to perform for St. Patrick's Day.

Moran will serve the other 80-days starting April 1st.

Moran must wear an electronic bracelet and attend AA meetings while he's out of prison.

He was also slapped with 3-months probation, a $2,000 fine and a suspended license until 2011.
