Foster Father Sentenced 16-Years to Life for Murder of Young Son

BATAVIA, Ohio (AP) - A Cincinnati area man has been sentenced to 16 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to murder in the death of a foster son who was bound in a closet.

Clermont County Judge Jerry McBride accepted the plea and imposed sentence after telling David Carroll Junior to explain in his own words what happened to three-year-old Marcus Fiesel.

"Stupidity" was Carroll's answer when the judge asked why the child had been left in the closet.

Carroll also expressed his sorrow over the boy's death and apologized to the community.

Last week, Carroll's wife Liz was sentenced to 54 years to life in prison after a jury found her guilty of murder and six other charges in the case.
