Busta Rhymes Busted for Drunk Driving
NEW YORK (AP) - Rapper Busta Rhymes has been arrested on a drunken driving charge in New York City.
Police say Rhymes was stopped early today because the sport utility vehicle he was driving had overly tinted windows. Officers then smelled alcohol on the 34-year-old rapper's breath.
Rhymes, whose real name is Trevor Smith, has had several law enforcement run-ins since last year.
He is tentatively scheduled to go to trial Tuesday on two assault charges, one of which alleges he assaulted a fan after a performance last August.
He also was jailed briefly in February after police stopped him for running a red light and discovered he was driving on a suspended license.
