Medina County, OH - The man accused in his mother's violent stabbing death appeared in court this morning.

Patrick Ravas faces a slew of charges in connection to Noella Ravas' murder - including aggravated murder and aggravated burglary.

Police say the 26-year-old fatally stabbed his mother then confessed to the crime while on the phone with an emergency dispatch operator.

Today in court, Ravas' attorney entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

19 Action News has learned Ravas was receiving $1,100 dollars a month for disability - for an unknown mental condition.

Ravas is eligible for the death penalty - but prosecutors won't seek it because of the man's competency.

Bond remains at $1 million dollars - Ravas' trial is slated for February.
