Doctors Confirm That Cedar Point Employee Has Bacterial Meningitis

SANDUSKY, Ohio – It was confirmed on Monday that an 18-year-old Cedar Point employee has bacterial meningitis, Action News reported.

The news is creating a lot of concern among visitors of the popular amusement park. Hundreds of people who recently had visited Cedar Point called the park on Monday.

Park officials, however, said that visitors are no longer in danger.

The disease can only be spread through close personal contact, and the teen had no direct contact with visitors. Still, more than two-dozen of the employee's co-workers are taking antibiotics as a precautionary measure.

The worker is still in the hospital, but is said to be doing better.
