Ohio Police Search For 'Granny Robber'

CINCINNATI (AP) - Authorities say two banks in southwest Ohio may have been held up by the same person, being called the "Granny Robber."

Lebanon (LEH'-buh-nuhn) police Sgt. Jeff Mitchell says a 60-ish woman who made off with bundles of cash from a local bank on Tuesday seems to be the same one who robbed a bank in nearby Mason during May.

Investigators say in surveillance video it appears the same striped head scarf was worn in both cases. Each time, the suspect also wore sunglasses and gloves and handed a teller a note demanding money but showed no weapon.

Police and the FBI are investigating tips from people who thought they recognized the woman.

Authorities aren't saying how much was stolen in either case.
