Mother Crushed After Daughter's Beaten Body Discovered Behind Factory
CLEVELAND – A security guard made the gruesome discovery of a woman's beaten body in the grass behind an abandoned factory early Wednesday morning, Action News' Tom Johnson reported.
Ucianna Ortiz's body was found behind the old Hugo Boss factory at Walworth Avenue and Junction Road on Cleveland's west side just after midnight.
That's where Ortiz's life apparently ended and where a mother's nightmare began.
Paula Hall (pictured, above) was left stunned by the news, which left her wondering why anybody would do this to her daughter.
"I can't believe someone hurt my daughter," Hall said. "My baby. She was 26. She was going to be 27. Now I have to tell the family I have and her family that she's dead."
Ortiz, called Jamie by her mother, recently lost her job and lived out of her car off and on.
Hall said that she knew something was not right.
"She was talking on the phone and then her face just had this solemn look," Hall said. "I knew something was wrong but I didn't know what.
"I just hope whoever hurt her, I pray to God that the Lord punishes them all."
Police officials told Action News that they do not have any suspects yet, but they did find the girl's missing car.
As for Hall, she said that her next hurdle is finding a way to pay for her daughter's funeral. If you would like to help out, go to any Third Federal Bank and ask to donate to the Ucianna "Jamie" Ortiz Memorial Fund.
