Health Update with Dr. Tabbaa featuring Dr. Jhawar - Colon Screening

Colon Cancer Screening is recommended based on guidelines for patients age 50-75. If you are considered HIGH RISK then you might need a screening earlier than age 50! Recently there has been some discussion in the news because the American Cancer Society changed the guidelines to age 45, however the United States Preventative Task Force still recommends age 50. Most insurance companies are still going by the age 50. Cologuard is a stool DNA test which can be used in average risk patients. This test is good for patients with no family history, no blood in stool, and no personal history of polyps or colon cancer. This is not the best test for everyone.
