MENTOR, OH (WOIO) - The Mentor Fire Department says a pickup caught fire at a Speedway gas pump on OH-306 and Lakeshore Boulevard on Monday afternoon.

Mentor Fire applauds the Speedway manager for immediately shutting down the gas pumps to avoid a much more dangerous situation while crews were responding.

The fire was contained to the truck and quickly extinguished, Mentor Fire says.

According to Mentor Fire, no one was injured.

Mentor Fire has released the surveillance footage from Speedway Management that captures the truck going up in flames:

This afternoon, shortly after 1pm, Stations 4, 5 and 3 responded to a pickup truck fire at the gas pumps of Speedway at 306 and Lakeshore. A great job was done by the Speedway manager who quickly shut down the gas pumps as the Fire Department was responding. Station 4 arrived and quickly extinguished the fire and were assisted from the Station 5 crew. The Mentor Police Department assisted with traffic control. We are happy to report that no one was injured and the fire was contained to the truck. (Thank you to Speedway Management for providing the attached video)
