‘I knew you would be something done’: 19 Troubleshooter helps get Cleveland yard cleaned up

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Edward Kus now has a prettier sight outside his W146th street home.

He spoke with 19 Troubleshooter Friday.

The front and back yard of the vacant home next door to his house was out of control. Today it’s finally cut by the city of Cleveland, just how Kus likes it.

“Before, it was over three foot tall and now it’s cut, but needs more attention,” Kus said.

According to Councilman Brian Kazy, the city will continue maintenance over a six-week cycle.

However, Kus now wants to shift the focus on the most recent owners of the home.

“It’s a good house, it just needs to have somebody to take care of it,” said Kus.

He said he has not seen anyone live at this home for years since Clear Point Capital, LLC, out of California, bought the house in 2021.

His fears that it could attract squatters and become a local dumping site has begun, as he cleans up trash left behind over the last several days.

Kazy told 19 News his office could not track down a local contact for Clear Point, LLC.

19′s Noelle Williams emailed the company. We are waiting to hear back.

As for the out-of-control yards, Kazy said, “the owner will be assessed the cost of cutting the grass. If they don’t pay for that cost, it will be assessed to the property tax.”
