Habitat for Humanity helps improve housing in Lorain
LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity has several projects lined up to revitalize the Southside community in Lorain.
Habitat for Humanity has formed a partnership with Lorain City officials and the Lorain Metropolitan Housing Authority (LMHA) to ensure “families in the area have a safe, affordable place to live.”
“The city of Lorain and LMHA have proven to be incredible partners in service, and as we make needed repairs to homes for existing residents, I also cannot wait to see new homes going up for families who need them.”said John Litten, Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity President & CEO.
The plan for 2025 is to build at least two houses in Lorain and complete a minimum of “critical” repairs on 30 homes.
The new modular homes will be located on E. 29th Street and E. 34th Street.
Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity promises a total $600,000 to improve living conditions in Lorain County.
