DASHCAM: Westlake officer uses PIT maneuver to stop weaving driver on I-90
Dashcam video shows pursuit of driver who had already hit a median wall and lost a tire
WESTLAKE, Ohio (WOIO) - Westlake police recently used a PIT maneuver to stop a driver on I-90 after officers say the vehicle struck a median wall, lost a tire and nearly hit several other drivers.
Dashcam video captured the moment officers made contact with the vehicle back on July 10 near the Columbia Road exit.
Video shows the driver keep going as officers attempted to pull her over with lights flashing and sirens on.
According to police, officers boxed in the driver after she attempted to drive away despite the missing tire.
The Lagrange woman, 52, was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Westlake police charged her with driving under suspension, felony failure to comply and traffic offenses.
Officers added further charges are possible.
