$1M bond set for 2nd suspect charged in deadly double shooting on I-71

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The second suspect accused in a deadly double shooting last year on I-71, was arraigned in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Thursday.

Denzel Blair pleaded not guilty to all 20 charges, including, four counts of aggravated murder.

The judge set Blair’s bond at $1 million.

Investigators said Blair and Nishawn Wood shot and killed two people on Dec. 20, 2025 on I-71 north near the I-490 split.

The victims were identified as Emerald Vanderhorst, 35, and Jordan King, 31.

Cleveland police said officers arrested Wood in January without incident.

Wood has also pleaded not guilty to all charges and is being held on a $1 million bond.

Blair and Wood will return to court on Oct. 6 for a pre-trial.
