Joy Machines Bike Shop asks for help finding stolen bikes
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A Cleveland business is asking you to keep an eye out for two bikes after an early Sunday morning theft at the shop.
Surveillance video from inside Joy Machines Bike Shop shows a man climbing through the window after breaking it and grabbing two bikes.
“They parked a car down on Detroit at the corner on 28th and Detroit they rode the bikes up 28th northbound and then 3 minutes later came back on foot and got the car,” said Alex Nosse, who owns the shop.
The bikes are a black Aventon Sinch folding e-bike and a blue and red Moose Gravel Express, according to Facebook post made by the business.
“There is a bike shortage right now which kind of adds insult to injury. We can’t usually replace them at this point but you know we’re doing our best to stock up on whatever we can our hands on at this point,” Nosse added.
Nosse tells 19 News this is the first time he’s ever had a break-in during the 10 years his shop has been in the Ohio City neighborhood.
Nosse says the men got away in an older model Black Mercedes with the front passenger window taped up.
