Suspect in custody after Wickliffe police chase ends in Solon

WICKLIFFE, Ohio (WOIO) - Wickliffe police said officers took a man into custody early Friday after a chase spanning several miles.

The pursuit took police through several East Side communities, beginning in Lake County and ending near the southeast border of Cuyahoga County in Solon.

According to police, a Wickliffe officer spotted a suspicious vehicle on traveling on Lakeland Blvd.

After following the car onto the freeway, police said the officer attempted to pull it over for moving violations.

However, the driver did not stop and a chase ensued, according to police.

Police said the driver finally pulled into the parking lot of an industrial area and was taken into custody.

According to Wickliffe police, charges against him will include fleeing and eluding.

No injuries were reported.
