Canton police arrest 16-year-old in connection to double fatal shooting
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - On Wednesday, Canton police found who they had been searching for since a March 28 double fatal shooting.
It turns out to be a 16-year-old boy who police say pulled a gun and shot two people.
The victims were identified by police as William Harvey and Jermiah Burton, both 19 years old.
It happened on Ellis Avenue in Northeast Canton shortly before 3 p.m. on March 28.
The shooting is still being investigated, but the Stark County prosecutor’s office charged the juvenile with murder and complicity to commit felonious assault, complicity to commit murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence.
The teen suspect, who is not being identified by 19 News at this time because of his age, was taken to Stark County Multi-County Juvenile Attention System on Faircrest Ave. S.W.
He was arraigned on Thursday and the decision whether to hold him over as an adult in the murders has not been made yet.
