Partial skeleton found on side of road in Tuscarawas County

TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office said they located a “partially skeletonized” body off a roadway Saturday morning.

A release says the body was found on North Orchard Road near Dover Zoar Road in Sandy Township just after 10:30 a.m.

A 911 call came in saying the caller found a partially decomposed body, the release says.

The body was over an embankment off the side of the road, according to the release.

Deputies say the decomposition of the body is significant, but they believe the body is female, though the coroner’s office will need to confirm.

Sweatpants, a light colored shirt, and black shoes were found on the body, the release says.

The remains were taken to the Cuyahoga County Coroner’s Office.

The release says there were no immediate signs of trauma on the body.

The sheriff’s office did say they are looking at cases in Stark County as well that the body could be connected to.
