COLUMBUS, Ohio (WOIO) - Ohio State and 279 of the 280 remaining Richard Strauss survivors involved in the pending litigation have reached settlements in principle, according to a statement from the university.

Strauss, the former team physician for the university, was accused of decades-long sexual misconduct.

Strauss committed suicide in 2005, but the investigation didn’t begin until 2018.

The settlements reached a total amount of $100 million.

The Ohio State University’s Board of Trustees publicly ratified these agreements.

Mediators are continuing to finalize the details of the settlements, and additional information will be shared as appropriate, according to Ohio State.
