Cleveland Cooks: La Vera’s Thanksgiving stuffing
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - This Thanksgiving restaurants and caterers around the city are offering full Thanksgiving spreads, and a la carte side dishes to make things a little easier for those hosting friends and family.
La Vera Party Center in Willoughby Hills has been offering Thanksgiving for many years.
Last year they served two thousand people through their pre-ordered Thanksgiving packages (orders must be placed by Nov. 18).
The team shared their recipe for Grandma’s sausage stuffing on Cleveland Cooks.
Recipe:
3T blended oil
14C (1 1/2 deep aluminum pan) dried cubed bread)
5# raw ground sausage
1/2c each diced celery, onion 2c sliced mushrooms
1T each salt, black pepper, granulated garlic
8 oz butter
16 oz turkey stock
1C shredded mozzarella
1/2C Romano cheese
1 XL Egg
1. Add oil and sausage to a warm pan, once browned add vegetables till they soften (don’t need to cook throughly because it will finish in oven)
2. In a large bowl combine bread cubes and sausage mixture
3. Add seasonings, cheese, Turkey stock and butter
4. Spray with pan release the 1/2 deep aluminum pan, add mixture to it
Bake on 375 covered for 40 minutes, then remove cover and brown to your liking
