Cleveland duo charged with human trafficking in Georgia

GREENE COUNTY, Ga. (WOIO) - Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr on Wednesday announced an indictment against a Cleveland duo accused of human trafficking.
The attorney general says the indictment comes after a multi-county police chase in August with the the two, 32-year-old Anthony Holmes and 21-year-old Jameesha Harris, both of Cleveland, following a traffic violation.
Police found the two with a 16-year-old girl reported as missing out of South Carolina after she was reported missing out of Ohio by her family, the attorney general says.
Police investigation revealed Holmes and Harris had transported the teen from South Carolina to Atlanta to perform commercial sex acts.
Police agencies in Georgia also found a firearm, cocaine that was prepared for distribution and marijuana, among other pieces of evidence, the attorney general said.
A grand jury in Greene County voted to indict the duo on Oct. 31.
Holmes faces the following charges:
- 1 count of trafficking of persons for sexual servitude
- 1 count of trafficking in cocaine
- 1 count of possession of marijuana
- 2 counts of possession of firearm during the commission of a felony
- 1 count of possession of firearm by a convicted felon
- 1 count of fleeing and attempting to elude police officer
- 1 count of window tint violation
Harris faces the following charges:
- 1 count of trafficking of persons for sexual servitude
- 1 count of trafficking in cocaine
- 1 count of possession of marijuana
- 2 counts of possession of firearm during the commission of a felony
