Lorain woman currently fighting breast cancer after 3rd diagnosis
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The waiting room has an eerie silence to it, that some might find comforting.
But when the waiting room is filled with cancer patients that are awaiting their mammogram results, the silence is deafening.
For 41-year-old Michelle Hudzinski, this isn’t her first time surrounded with silence.
It’s not the second either.
For Hudzinski, this is her third time returning to scene.
“It’s hard to accept at first, I had to lay there and say multiple times…that you have cancer and then when you accept it, it’s easier to move on,” Hudzinski said.
Within seven years, the cancer had spread to her lung and chest wall.
“My oncologist was like, ‘you know there’s no cure, it’s treatable’, I’m like okay,” Hudzinski said. “I’m not gonna let that get me down and stop doing what I’m doing…”

She continued to live her life, finding support in all places.
“I was fortunate enough to have a good support group,” Hudzinski said. “I had a big one where I worked. I have my work family, I have my family, I have my husband’s work family, and just knowing that they’re there to support me also helps you be strong and go forward.”

Though she still has stage 4 breast cancer now, she continues to enjoy time with her friends.

“It started at, ‘hey you guys want to go to bingo?’ ‘sure, let’s go to bingo.’,” Hudzinski said. “Then an ad for bowling popped up, and they’re like ‘hey, you guys wanna do a bowling league?’ ‘and we were like “heck yeah”... it’s fun.”

“You gotta keep doing what you’re doing, you can’t let it get to you,” Hudzinski said “I don’t wanna live life saying I wish I would have, I wanna live life saying I did do it, and I’m glad I did.”
