FIRST ALERT TRAFFIC: Multiple accidents on I-480 on the Valley View Bridge

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Multiple accidents slowed down traffic in both directions on I-480 on the Valley View Bridge.

The accidents started just before 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

First responders from numerous departments responded to the scene.

At one point, all lanes of I-480 westbound (including the express lanes) were shut down, as well as the express lanes of I-480 eastbound.

Cleveland police have asked Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) crews to salt the bridge.

As of 2:30 p.m., all lanes of eastbound and westbound traffic of I-480 at the Valley View Bridge are cleared.

It is unknown how many vehicles were involved in the multitude of crashes, and if anyone was injured.
