STARK COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - A car crash late Friday night left a driver dead, according to state troopers.
OSHP says the 64-year-old driver, identified as Eric Mallett, of Strasburg, overcorrected his 2001 Chevrolet Impala while negotiating a curve before traveling off the right side of the roadway after striking a tree.
Troopers say the Stark County Coroner’s Office pronounced Mallett dead on SR 212 near Bardell Avenue SW in Bethlehem Township, where the crash occurred.
Troopers confirmed the driver was not wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash.
