Man injured after ‘blowing his hand off’ with a firework: Medina County Sheriff’s Office

MEDINA COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - A man was taken to the hospital after reportedly “blowing his hand off” with a fire work, according to Medina County Sheriff’s deputies.

The Medina County’s Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a fireworks incident at a home in Homer Township early Sunday morning around 1:32 a.m.

When deputies arrived to the home in the 9600 block of River Corners Road, the inquired man was unconscious and bleeding profusely with two fingers missing, according to a police report.

The man was transported by EMS to Lodi hospital and later flown to MetroHealth.

Meanwhile, deputies worked to locate the two missing index and middle fingers from his right hand.

Deputies reported finding one finger and having it transported by EMS.

The current condition of the injured man is unknown.
