Cedar Point’s Top Thrill 2 will not reopen this year

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Cedar Point confirmed Friday its newest roller coaster, Top Thrill 2, will not be opening again this year.

A statement from the amusement park said the manufacturer, Zamperla, will not be able to finish the necessary mechanical modifications to reopen this year. The ride shut down in May, the same month the amusement park reopened for the 2024 season.

“We are extremely disappointed that we cannot open the ride this season, but remain committed to delivering a reliable, consistent and unparalleled coaster experience for our guests in 2025,” a statement from Cedar Point read.

The statement apologized for the inconvenience.
