‘I ain’t no punk’: Cavs’ Darius Garland was up for the challenge against Boston
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Darius Garland didn’t back down when Boston relentlessly picked on him all night.
The Celtics kept forcing switches on Garland and he was up for the challenge.
“They were hunting me out every possession, so I’m going to take the challenge and try and make it as difficult as I can,” Garland said.
Less than two weeks ago when the Cavs and Celtics met in Boston, Garland had his worst shooting performance of the season, shooting 14.3 percent from the field and 0-6 from deep.
On Sunday night in Cleveland, Garland scored 22 points and shot 4-6 from three-point range. He also was a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line, with four of those free throws coming in the final 14 seconds of the game.
Garland continues to be an effective facilitator, he had a game-high eight assists and didn’t commit a single turnover.
Up next the Cavs host the Wizards on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
