2 arrested after Elyria home burglarized, victim held at gunpoint
Police release bodycam from when they rescued victims
ELYRIA, Ohio (WOIO) - Two people are under arrest after Elyria police say they burglarized a home and held the man inside at gunpoint.
According to police, J’Marion Kenneth Lavonne Carter-Woods, 18, and a 17-year-old boy broke into the Barres Lane home on Dec. 16.
It happened in broad daylight just past noon.
There, officers say the suspects held the victim at gunpoint and stole his property.
The suspects ran away, but according to police, officers soon found them walking in yards near 9th Street and West Avenue.
On the 17-year-old, police say they found the victim’s stolen property.
Officers also say they recovered a gun during the investigation.
Both suspects are charged with aggravated burglary, felonious assault and tampering with evidence.
Carter-Woods is in the Lorain County Jail, while the 17-year-old is in the Lorain County Juvenile Detention Home, police say.
The burglary remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact Elyria police.
