Sentencing for 20-year-old guilty of deadly shooting at Bedford Heights gas station

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A 20-year-old man convicted of a fatal shooting at a Bedford Heights gas station this past March was sentenced by Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Judge David Matia Monday to 12-16 1/2 years in prison.
Once released, DaTwaun Diamond will be on parole for five years.
In December 2024, Diamond was convicted of involuntary manslaughter.

Bedford Heights police said Diamond shot and killed La’Quan Evans, 19, at the Libby Gas Station on Libby Road on March 30, 2024 around 11:30 p.m.
Diamond fled after the shooting and was arrested by the U.S. Marshals on May 21, 2024 at a home on Case Court in Cleveland.
