Meet Lake County Captains' fetching new teammate: Bat Dog Mokoro!

EASTLAKE, Ohio (WOIO) - Meet the Lake County Captains' fetching new teammate for the 2025 season: Mokoro the Bat Dog!

This All-Star good girl will retrieve bats and balls during Thursday home games at Classic Auto Group Park.

“Mokoro, a well-trained and energetic companion, promises to add extra excitement to each game, making it even more memorable for fans of all ages," the Captains stated.

But she won’t be the only pup the ballpark!

The Captains will welcome dogs to Class Auto Group Park for free on Thursdays, and for $5 on non-firework days.

"Bring your furry friend and enjoy the fun," the Captains shared.

Mokoro will make her debut during the Captains' home opening week on April 10.

She’ll be alongside her owner and Mission Empawthy, LLC. professional dog trainer, Victory Brody.

The Captains are the High-A Affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians.
