Alliance Police arrest man allegedly trying to break into cars at University of Mount Union

ALLIANCE, Ohio (WOIO) - Alliance Police arrested a 26-year-old early Sunday morning after he allegedly attempted to open car doors on the campus of the University of Mount Union.

According to a social media post, thefts from cars in the Mount Union area have been on the rise.

In the body camera video posted by Alliance Police, officers approach Noah Bainbridge, 26, of Salem, and ask if he had been attempting to break into cars.

Police said Bainbridge gave a fake name to officers and then fled on foot.

After a failed attempt to use a Taser, officers arrested him on South Rockhill Avenue, according to the post.

Alliance Police said, the officer “came through with the huge takedown over a fence in a nearby backyard.”

Bainbridge was charged with an outstanding warrant, obstructing official business, resisting arrest and falsification.
