Student arrested with gun at school in Akron

AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - A 17-year-old Akron Buchtel High School student was arrested after a gun was found in her bag while going through security screening

The school was placed on lockdown.

A Summit County Sheriff’s Deputy working at the school found the loaded 9mm pistol in her bag.

The teen was arrested and charged with Illegal Conveyance of a Deadly Weapon in a School (F4).

She was transported to the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center.
