Ohio BMV expanding hours as deadline to get Real ID nears
CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Ohio BMV locations are expanding hours on select days as the deadline for people to get their Real ID nears.
The Real ID deadline is May 7.
In anticipation of the approaching deadline, the Ohio BMV says all locations will be open until 3 p.m. on April 26 and May 3.
Only 58% of Ohioans had a Real ID as of April 14, according to the Ohio Registrar.
A Real ID will be needed to board a domestic flight and visit federal facilities that require identification, like the White House or any military installations.
You do not need a Real ID to drive or vote.
