Grafton woman indicted in deadly hit-and-run
LORAIN, Ohio (WOIO) - The 53-year-old Grafton woman accused of a deadly hit and run in Lorain, was indicted by a Lorain County Grand Jury.
Lynda Wright was indicted on the charges of failure to stop after an accident, vehicular homicide, and tampering with evidence.
According to police, Wright was driving westbound in the 1400 block of Cooper Foster Park Rd. around 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 8, when she struck a male pedestrian and then fled the scene.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male pedestrian has been identified, but police are still attempting to notify his family.
“It’s always concerning especially if they just drove away not knowing what condition that person was in,” said Lorain Police Lt. Eric Manicsic.
According to a release from Lorain police, officers tracked Wright and her white Subaru Legacy to an Amherst Days Inn several days later.
Police said the SUV’s damage was consistent with the hit-and-run.
