Lorain County road rage victim remains hospitalized

LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - A 32-year-old woman shot in a road rage incident earlier this week remains in the hospital and deputies said the doctors are not going to try and remove the bullet.

The victim does not want her name released.

According to Lorain County Sheriff deputies, the victim was not the intended target of the shooting.

Lorain County Sheriff Major AJ Torres said Nicholas Dejesus, 27, became upset with another driver in Lorain on Monday morning and it continued into Amherst Township.

Dejesus allegedly fired his gun in the 7500 block of Leavitt Rd. in Amherst Township, striking the vehicle driven by the 32-year-old woman.

There were five passengers in her vehicle, but they were not injured.

Dejesus, of Amherst Township, turned himself Monday afternoon.

He is charged with seven counts of felonious assault and one count of discharge of a firearm on prohibited premises.

Dejesus is scheduled to appear in Lorain Municipal Court on May 28.
