Sandusky murder suspect arrested after Lorain SWAT standoff: police

LORAIN, Ohio (WOIO) - A man wanted for murder in Sandusky is now behind bars after a brief SWAT standoff at a Lorain home, police confirmed.

The Sandusky Police Department learned the male suspect wanted for murder in their jurisdiction was at a house in Lorain, according to LPD Lt. Eric Manicsic.

Police have yet to specify when or exactly where the Sandusky murder took place.

SPD then called the Lorain Police Department for help with apprehending the suspect, Manicsic said.

LPD went to the home, but the suspect refused to get out for officers who were first to respond, stated Manicsic.

The SWAT team was then sent to the scene, according to Manicsic.

After a brief SWAT standoff, the suspect voluntarily got out of the home, said Manicsic.

Manicsic said the suspect was taken into custody without further incident and turned over to the Sandusky Police Department.

The same of the suspect has yet to be released.
