LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - Elyria Police will be cracking down on speeders after “numerous complaints.”

The Elyria Police Traffic Unit will be concentrating on West Ridge Road and Burns Road.

Police remind drivers the speed limit is 35 mph.

“Let’s keep our roads safe for everyone—slow down and drive responsible," Elyria Police posted on Facebook.

Linda Baus lives on West Ridge Rd. The speed limit is 35 mph. Which many drivers ignore. Her home has been the victim of multiple car crashes. This is why her husband built a wall. A solution to prevent drivers from hitting their homes.

“I’d like to see people not drive so fast. And also not drink and drive,” said Baus.

It’s valid complaints like Baus’ that have police on high alert for speeders.

“They’ve sat in different spots here and watched. And it’s greatly appreciated. They also will sit up at the corner, and I think that makes a huge difference,” said Baus.
