CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A 20-year-old man was rushed to a local hospital after being shot while inside a stolen car in Ohio City late Sunday evening.

The victim was shot in the area of W. 30th Street and Monroe Avenue around 11:30 p.m.

After he was struck, the victim crashed into a parked pick-up truck.

Cleveland Police Second District Detectives were conducting a special operation targeting car break-ins and stolen vehicles and were notified of two stolen vehicles traveling through that area.

While on patrol, Cleveland police said one of the detectives heard a gunshot and a crash.

When they arrived at the scene, officers said they found the victim and immediately rendered first aid.

Officers added the shooting victim remains in the hospital and charges are pending.

The suspect remains at large.

The second stolen vehicle was also recovered, according to police.
