CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Ohio State offensive coordinator Brian Hartline has been hired as the new head coach at South Florida.

He reportedly told the school Wednesday morning but will stay with the Buckeyes through their playoff run.

He’s considered one of the best recruiters in the country and also coached some of the top receivers now in the NFL, including Emeka Egbuka, Marvin Harrison Jr, Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, plus current Buckeye stars Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate.

Hartline, 39, was born in Canton, played his college ball at OSU and professionally for the Miami Dolphins (2009-14) and Browns (2015).
